Pinkman/Epstein History"GOOD IS THE ENEMY OF GREAT. And that is one of the key reasons why we have so little that becomes great. We don't have great schools principally because we have good schools. We don't have great government principally because we have good government. Few people attain great lives in large part because it is just so easy to settle for a good life. The vast majority of companies never become great, precisely because the vast majority become quite good – and that is their main problem." (Good to Great, Jim Collins, HarperCollins Publishers, 2001, ISBN 0-06-662099-6)
In 1992, John Pinkman had already coached for over 10 years. He thought, "If the best thing I do in life is baseball, what actions can I take to create the biggest impact and affect the game in the most important way?" Fortunately for the game and thousands of players he decided to focus on pitching. With his sons Jeff and Pat, John's teaching efforts have gained Pinkman Baseball recognition as one of the best schools in the nation. Local TV coverage, USA Today, Collegiate Baseball Magazine and countless well-respected COACHES have classified Pinkman Baseball as first class quality and defining the term "Professional". John, Jeff, and Pat have steadily increased parent, player and coach expectations in the skill of pitching and now currently hitting. The teaching concepts the Pinkman's bring to the Mid - Atlantic region have also raised expectations of team coaches and other baseball schools. The Pinkman's have built a teaching system that not only produces consistent results but a business disciplined with values, integrity and honest compassionate communication.
For years the Pinkman Family had been asked to take that teaching commitment into hitting instruction. They chose not to take that course in years past because there was little new to offer. The world of hitting instruction was generally unified in a specific style. What could they contribute that wasn't already being done by so many good hitting instructors? Well, times have changed. If you want to be a GOOD hitter this is not the program for you. Excellence is not easy, it's not convenient. Excellence is a clear and decisive choice. Is it your time to be great? |
