2012 Winter Camp schedule Registration Open:
Since 1992 the Pinkman family has presented quality training programs of significant value. Our classes are organized, structured, and systematic. Everyone is equally important and deserves personal attention. We are honored that players from over 40 high school programs (from Va Beach to Baltimore) choose to train at our Academy. Players have high expectations of our program. At Pinkman you receive instruction and a supervised workout, not just practice the same skills. Each year we grow together with our students increasing our teaching technologies and course content (e.g., we have balls that calibrate revolutions per second). We make a commitment to bring to you the latest baseball training through our continued education. Fundamentals are important. Equally important are advanced strategies and tactics needed in competitive play. Planned Pre-Pitch and Pre-at-Bat approaches are valuable assets in your development. Mental and Emotional Power are as important as Physical Power. Discover power in your swing you knew should be there but has been hidden. Develop control of off speed pitches - learn a new one! Let's plan a productive Winter – Together. What do YOU need?
High School Winter Workout Camp (HWW) 10 weeks HWW Players will work in groups of 4 with a Pinkman instructor for ten weeks focusing on proper warm up, functional strength training, mechanical instruction, and pitch development. A complete video analysis of each player will be conducted upon the first session; and will be available to view video throughout the ten weeks. During a typical 2 hour workout players can expect to properly warm-up for 30 mins; perform throwing drills, learn off-speed pitches, and develop a pitching strategy in the next 30 mins; throw a professional bull-pen with a specific number of pitches at the half way mark; and finish the last 30 mins charting pitches in their velocity pen. The first three weeks of the December 10 week camp will be spent teaching players how to warm up, prepare to throw; 45 minutes of each class is spent in this critical phase of training in order to carry this new instruction on to the playing field. Most athletes at all ages, when left on their own, will not warm up properly. We use the same techniques as you would see in a physical therapy clinic to prepare players for the spring season. The doctors we have worked with over the past 18 years indicate the majority of sore arms can be avoided by proper conditioning. If you are interested in joining sessions already in progress that began Dec 1-Dec7 please contact us a info@Pinkman.us or 703-661-8586.
Beginning in January for 7 weeks, the HSP program introduces players age 12-15 (6th-9th grades) to the skills needed for middle school and/or high school tryouts. HSP players will work in groups of 4 for 90 mins each week, with a Pinkman instructor, and study how to prepare for the next level during the winter season. Like the HWW camps these sessions will focus on proper warm up, functional strength training, mechanical instruction, off-speed pitch development, and introduce an in-game pitching strategy. Players will receive a full JC Video analysis upon the first session and have opportunities to see the changes on video from week to week. The HSP camps are great for both veteran and new pitchers to the Pinkman family.
Please click on the "Buy Now" buttons to pay for a player slot. Your enrollment in the camp will be complete once you receive a camp confirmation email from Booking Plus. If you do not receive this email please contact and let us know.
Catching Camps (5 weeks) Most catchers have a reasonable knowledge when asked to demonstrate fundamental skill. What they lack prevents them from becoming an excellent player. Core conditioning, balance knowing precisely when to block, when to freeze the strike are skills catchers they need to take into game performance. Each week catchers will reinforce basic and advanced skills such as: basic throwing mechanics, receiving, blocking, understanding how to throw and catch off speed pitches, the art of saving strikes and learning how to recognize pitchers mechanical flaws. We feel our catching camps are quite different. A catcher is an on field pitching coach and requires a command presence. As such, they are required to learn more pitching mechanics & strategies. **High School Catchers are invited to participate in the 10 week (2 hour) High School Winter Workout Program as part of their registration in to the Catchers Camp in appropriate age groups. In addition to their 1 hour scheduled camp, catchers are welcome to attend HWW or HSP classes through out the week to learn more about pitching and to refine their technique through workouts. Contact the Dulles facility for more details on days and times you can attend to catch bull pens and velocity workouts.**
As of 1/2 all Catching Camps are filled. If ytou are interested in creating a custom Catching camp with a group of players from your team or neighborhood please contact info@pinkman.us or call 703-661-8586
Power House Hitting Camp (7 weeks) Our hitting classes will concentrate on changing the way you swing a bat to improve power and distance on the ball. These camps are for players looking to increase their batting average and slugging percentage over the winter. The drill work performed in the earlier stages of the camp will reinforce the proper body movements to get the path of the bat on plane with the oncoming pitch. Our January 7 week hitting program will meet once a week for 90 minutes. During these classes players will work to develop baseball specific vision training, advanced hitting strategies and tactics. Players will review hitting mechanics through our JC Video mobile station, and concentrate heavily on drill work. This camp will develop a swing to improve power and distance. Basic Pitching Skill Camps 12 & under (5 weeks) Our 5 week Basic Pitching camps are perfect for advanced and beginner 12U pitchers. During these sessions we will indentify and improve on a pitcher's basic and advanced pitching mechanics. Players will learn to throw to specific locations and develop a pitching strategy, throw fastballs with movement, pitch from the stretch and windup, and develop safe and effective off-speed pitches. A complete video analysis using the JC Video analyzer will be conducted upon the first sessions.
As of 11/14 all of the Basic Pitching Skill Camp slots have been filled. If you are interested in attending a Basic Pitching Camp or creating a custom Pitching Camp please send an email to info@Pinkman.us
